Behind the Sparkle: Building The Jewel Edit From the Ground Up

Starting The Jewel Edit hasn’t been just about creating beautiful pieces—it’s been about figuring things out in real time.
Every single detail you see—the sparkle, the designs, the photos, the packaging—has come from a lot of trial, error, and learning as we go.
When we first started, we had a vision: elevated, everyday pieces with just the right amount of shine. Not over-the-top, not overwhelming—just enough to make you feel put together and a little more you. But turning that vision into something tangible? That’s where the real work began.
Learning the Process (One Step at a Time)
There’s no perfect roadmap for starting a boutique like this. We’ve been learning everything—from designing with rhinestones to working with heat presses, to figuring out sizing, spacing, and placement so each piece feels intentional and high-end.
Even something that seems simple—like a rhinestone outline—takes time to get right. The spacing, the size of the stones, the alignment… it all matters more than you’d think. And we’ve redone things more times than we can count to get that clean, elevated look we’re after.
Getting Comfortable on TikTok
Then there’s TikTok—which is a whole different world in itself.
Hitting “post” for the first time? Not as easy as it sounds. But we’ve leaned into it, sharing the behind-the-scenes moments: unboxing supplies, watching designs come to life, peeling back templates to reveal the sparkle underneath.
It’s not about being perfect—it’s about bringing you into the process. Letting you see the real, unfiltered moments as we build something from scratch.
The Challenge of Capturing Sparkle
One thing we didn’t expect? How hard it is to photograph rhinestones.
Getting that perfect shot where the stones actually shine—without washing out the sweatshirt or picking up every little piece of lint—is an art in itself. Lighting, angles, backgrounds… we’ve tested it all.
Too much light? You lose the detail. Not enough? You lose the sparkle. Wrong background? The whole piece falls flat.
We’re constantly adjusting, learning how to capture the pieces in a way that actually reflects how good they look in person.
Why It Matters
At the end of the day, this isn’t just about selling products. It’s about creating something thoughtful.
Every designed piece you see from The Jewel Edit has been tested, adjusted, and refined. We care about how it looks, how it feels, and how it fits into your everyday life.
And while we’re still figuring things out (and probably always will be), that’s part of what makes this so exciting.
This is just the beginning.
